Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion Tattoo

Ink Fixx All Natural Tattoo Lotion

Lubriderm Lotion Review

Ideal for extended care, Ink Fixx serves better in the later stages of tattoo healing by doing away with itchiness and redness. Its said to have all-natural moisturizers and vitamins that keep tats looking shiny and provide them more definition. Healing might not be its biggest strength, but it holds enough key ingredients to rejuvenate and revitalize skin over time. Moisturization wonât ever be a problem since aloe, sunflower seed oil, and vitamin E extract take on the duty of keeping your bark hydrated.

Promising Review: âInk Fixx has the best tattoo care products bar none. This stuff is the real deal, and it is worth the extra buck. Would you rather have your tattoo fade/blur while using the cheap stuff, or spend a couple bucks more once a year and have your ink last forever?

I originally got Ink Fixx because my tattoo artist threw it in with the deal he gave me. I have used it from day one since I got my tattoo . Now, three years later, people who have never met me before ask me when I got my tattoo . Then I tell them itâs been three years, and they are stunned. Since then I have researched what kinds of ingredients help keep your ink shiny ⦠and this stuff as all of them.

This stuff works so well that my tattoo still is raised along most of the lines. I donât let my ink see the sun and I put Ink Fixx on it almost daily. From the looks of it I will have nice definition on my tattoo for a long time to come because of this stuff.

Dont Moisturize Your Skin Until Its Dry

The very first step in the tattoo aftercare process is actually a waiting game. The ink will likely be wet for the first couple of days after getting the tattoo. It is important that you do not apply lotion or moisturize your tattoo until it is fully dry.

This will take anywhere from 1-3 days. Leave your tattoo covered until it is dry, and change your bandaging twice a day. When you change your bandage, you will want to clean the wound with fragrance-free, antibacterial soap. Softly dabb your tattoo with a wet towel that has a small amount of soap on it. After cleaning, re-bandage your tattoo.

You will know its time to apply lotion when the wound begins to itch, and you will notice that the ink is beginning to scab over. Do not pick at the scabs. This is the natural healing process at work.

After all, your tattoo is a scar. Interfering with the natural scarring process can cause your tattoo to become infected, or warp.

Can I Sleep On A Fresh Tattoo

Avoid sleeping directly on your new tattoo, at least the first 4 days. The goal is to try your best not to put any pressure on your tattoo and to keep it from touching anything, at least as much as possible. A healing tattoo needs lots of fresh air and oxygen, so try not to smother it while sleeping.

What Not To Put On A New Tattoo

For unhealed tattoos, you need to let it breatheas much as possible. This is why petroleum jelly is abig no-no on new tattoos.

Dont get me wrong, petroleum jelly isuseful in a lot of things and can even heal minor burns and wounds. However, your tattoo is more than just a minor wound. Its an open, oozing wound thanks tothe thousands of needle stabs your skin received.

Even if you apply a very thin layer, its still not a good idea to do so. This is because Vaseline is highly occlusive and will totally block out oxygen from entering your skin, which leads to delayed healing, and worse, infections.

How To Wash And Moisturize Your Tattoo:

Lubriderm Tattoo Daily Care Lotion, Water

The first time you wash your tattoo will either be before you go to bed or first thing in the morning when you wake up. Either way, make sure to be extra gentle when removing your bandage. If it’s sticking, don’t rip it off: Get into a warm shower and let the steam loosen it. Whether you’re in the shower or using the sink, be sure to avoid placing your fresh tattoo directly under a stream of water for more than a few seconds, and definitely make sure never to completely submerge it at the beginning.

To wash your tattoo , start with unscented, antibacterial soap and lukewarm water never use hot water. Lather and rub gentle circles over your tattoo until there’s no ointment or gunk left. Splash water on it to rinse the soap off.

Pat your tattoo dry instead of rubbing at it, preferably with a paper towel since it may still be leaky. Once it’s completely dry, re-apply a very thin layer of Aquaphor, and then either re-cover it with plastic wrap to sleep in for the first night, or leave it uncovered if it’s the first morning after.

What You Need To Know

Lubriderm brings its many years of dermatologically proven science to keep your tattoo looking fresh and new and protecting it when you first receive it.

What Does A Lotion Do To A Tattoo

Lotions or healing ointments nourish and moisturize a tattoo. Similar to when you scrape yourself, your body forms a scab to protect the open wound your tattoo will attempt to do this too. Keeping your tattoo moisturized keeps it from scabbing and keeps it healthy.

Skin-Nourishing and hydrating ingredients can keep your skin healthy as well as speed up your tattoo healing process. The less your tattoo scabs, the less it will itch, and the less youll be tempted to scratch or pick at it!

Yes, you should continue to moisturize your tattoo even after healing. This will help to keep the tattoo looking its best and prevent the tattoo from drying out and cracking.

You should moisturize your tattoo 2-3 times per day. There are many ways to moisturize your tattoo. You can use a lotion, cream, ointment, or oil.

Like a plant needs to be cared for properly, so do your tattoos. To not damage the ink, you should follow these aftercare routines.

  • Good for people who dislike lotion
  • Creates a barrier that promotes oxygen flow
  • Restores moisture to the skin
  • Preservative and fragrance-free

If youre not a fan of lotions, perhaps youd prefer an ointment. Specifically, Aquaphor Healing Ointment. We rate it as the best ointment for tattoos, but thats for you to decide. Just like lotions, it aims to hydrate your skin and assist with repair and recovery. It has a slightly thicker texture than location and creates a protective barrier to keep your skin hydrated.

Have you ever seen someone with a dull or faded tattoo and thought to yourself, that looks like crap?

That might sound kind of harsh, but the fact is a dull and faded tattoo has almost zero aesthetic appeal. While that faded tattoo may have garnered compliments in its early days, I can guarantee you this: nobodys complimenting it now.

No one gets a tattoo in hopes that it will one day dull and fade, but the truth is all tattoos lose some of their brightness and vibrancy over time.

And although I probably sound a bit pessimistic I want you to know that Im really not. In fact I believe that all tattoos are capable of living long, bright, and vibrant lives if theyre properly cared for that is.

What Can Happen If You Neglect To Properly Moisturize A Fresh Tattoo

The process of getting a tattoo involves putting small needles that are used with the desired inks to create either a black and white or colored tattoo. A new tattoo is basically a skin wound that could allow potential microbes and other irritants to get down into the inner layers where colored ink is typically saturated. The inks and other products used during a tattoo session may also be drying to the skin. If the tattoo site skin remains dry, it may begin to flake off or peel. If the site is irritated with fragrances, dyes, harsh ingredients and chemicals, this can make the situation even worse. As the skin heals, a scab will begin to form. The more irritated and dry the site is, the greater level of scab formation is possible. When the thickened scab starts to dry out and fall off, this may take a good bit of the ink used away with it leaving the tattoo design looking patchy or significantly faded.

Coconut oil is gentle enough to use during any stage of the tattoo process. You can apply it to new tattoos, old ones, or even those that are undergoing removal or retouching. Lubriderm 24 Oz Tattoo Daily Care Moisturizing Lotion 24 Hour ...

Apply a thin layer of unscented, color fee lotion to your tattoo. The amount of lotion you use should spread entirely into your tattoo with ease, and without leaving excess. Using excess lotion can cause your pores to become clogged. This can lead to irritation of your tattoo, or even an infection.

Your tattoo may still feel dry, itchy, and possibly painful after you moisturize. It may also begin to flake and peel. This is normal. It is suggested that you do not peel off any of the flaking edges on your tattoo. They will fall off naturally as your tattoo heals.

What To Look For In A Good & Non

Fragrances used in the production of skincare and other personal care products tend to cause a lot of irritations and skin sensitivities including a true allergy. Fortunately, there are more good moisturizing lotions today than ever before to choose.Stay away from skincare lotions that contain alcohol, dyes and other additives for best results. Even natural scents may cause skin irritation in those with more sensitive skin types. Sometimes, just having the tattoo area worked on along with the sometimes-drying cleansing prep solutions can cause even non-sensitive skin types to become irritated, reddened or otherwise aggravated.

Read the Label First & Select a Lotion Formula That Is Gentle & Fragrance-Free

Again, it is essential to read the label and especially the ingredient list of any lotion or other skincare products before purchasing. Some people are still going to have reactions due to natural ingredients, but choosing lotions made of wholesome ingredients tends to be a safer bet for tattoo after-care use.

Choose a Natural Based Tattoo After-Care Barrier Lotion

More skincare manufacturers now use increased amounts of natural based ingredients especially in lotions designed specifically for use on recently tattooed skin. It can help to do some research online or via the company website prior to choosing your preferred lotion brand. Sometimes, the names for natural ingredients can look suspiciously harsh even though they are not.
