Though he’s spoken about the serious role that his father’s death has played in his life, the comedian has also incorporated the tragedy into some of his routines.
“I lost my dad on 9/11,” he said at a Comedy Central roast for Justin Bieber in 2015, according to the Washington Post.
He continued: “I always regretted growing up without a dad. Until I met your dad, Justin. Now I’m glad mine’s dead.”
His father’s death also became a major plot point in Davidson’s semi-autobiographical film “The King of Staten Island” .

Davidson drew acclaim for his lead role in the 2020 film The King of Staten Island, playing a young tattoo artist.
Earlier this year, Davidson revealed that his desire to pursue an acting career had motivated him to have his tattoos removed, suspecting that they may impact his ability to get cast in projects.
Speaking to People TV, Davidson revealed that it will take two more years to remove the rest of his ink.

Pete Davidsons tattoo removal journey is a major pain in more ways than one.
The Saturday Night Live star, 27, revealed he was scrubbing his ink in December, and opened up about the really embarrassing process on Tuesdays episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers.

The comedian did have some parting advice for aspiring actors who are thinking about getting inked: If youre going to get tattoos, just make sure you really, really want it and arent on mushrooms.
On His Left Arm Davidson Has A Sinister
The comedian used his Willy Wonka-inspired ink to drive home a punch line during a “Pete Davidson & Friends” comedy show in 2019, according to USA Today.
“I got a Harry Potter tattoo. Then the next day, Alan Rickman, the guy who played Snape, died, and I was like, ‘Oh, what a weird coincidence,'” Davidson told the audience.
He continued, “Then I got a Willy Wonka tattoo. Next day, Gene Wilder dies. Now I’m like, all right, that’s a coincidence, that’s weird. So I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Louis C.K., what do you guys think?”
Davidson went on to say that C.K. attempted to get him booted from the “SNL” cast by reportedly disparaging Davidson’s marijuana smoking to “SNL” producers as well as “SNL” creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels.
“Five years later this motherfucker’s been locking doors and jerking off in front of people,” Davidson also said in his set, referring to multiple women’s sexual misconduct accusations against C.K., who apologized in a public statement, in 2017.

‘snl’ Star Pete Davidson Reveals Tattoo Removal Update
Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson has started the tattoo removal process, but he has a long way to go before it’s finished. The comedian gave an interview with PEOPLEthis week, revealing that he is undergoing laser treatments to get about 100 of his tattoos removed. He said that the whole process will be complete “by the time I’m 30.”
Davidson said that laser tattoo removal is incredibly painful, extremely time-consuming and it takes a long time to heal. He said that it has actually been “about four or five months” since his last session under the laser because it takes “like a month for it to heal” each time. “We’re shooting some stuff,” he added, so the timing on such a recovery process is not good. Even with no other obligations, Davidson could only get under the laser once every 12 weeks in order to do the process properly, so it will take years to remove all of his ink.

Davidson, currently 27 years old, is known for his self-deprecating humor, often teasing his younger self for his bold and erratic tattoo choices. He joked that he was surprised when Smart Water agreed to partner with him on an ad campaign based on his tattoo removal.
“After they called…I fell on the floor and started laughing for about three hours,” he joked. “Honestly, as soon as I heard ‘Smart Water brand deal’, I went deaf.”
