In 2019, Oliver and Selom managed to sell $400,000 worth of tattoo aftercare cream, but in the eight months prior to appearing on Shark Tank, Mad Rabbit Tattoo totaled $1.7 million in sales. Further, in the last 30 days, the company had sold $300,000 worth of cream, for a profit of $60,000.

At the time of the pitch, Oliver and Selom had 5,000 subscribers, that pay $11.99 a month to have a cream sent to them. It currently costs $2.78 to make the cream and costs around $6-$7 to acquire a customer.

All of this was enough to interest Kevin OLeary and Mark Cuban, both of whom made offers on Mad Rabbit Tattoo. Kevin offered $500,000 as a loan at 9.75% interest for 5% equity, while Mark offered $500,000 for 12% equity. After thinking it through some, Oliver and Selom accepted Marks offer and Mad Rabbit Tattoo left Shark Tank with a deal.

The skyrocketing careers of two Miami University business graduates who landed a half-million dollar investor last year on TVs Shark Tank has now seen them ink a multi-million dollar deal to take their tattoo skin care product across America.

The new business partnership is propelling the Miami grads to even higher success than they ever imagined when they were college roommates living in a modest apartment next to the Oxford campus.

For Oliver Zak and Selom Agbitor, Class of 2019 finance majors, its a stressful time but its the good kind of stress, they told our news partners the Journal-News.

Ive never worked harder in my life but I love every second of it, said Zak.

Agbitor echoed his partner, saying its as stressful as it is fun.

According to Mae Chabrunn, a spokeswoman for their Mad Rabbit Tattoo company, the company has recently signed an exclusive partnership with Inked, both the magazine and the store, making Mad Rabbit the exclusive tattoo aftercare brand for Inked.

This partnership marks the first of its kind for Inked as it pioneers a new standard towards clean tattoo aftercare. Mad Rabbit is now the exclusive tattoo aftercare brand of Inked, with the Inked store exclusively carrying Mad Rabbit product offerings both in store and online in early 2022, Chabrunn said.

Their latest deal is worth an estimated $4 to $5 million, she said, and moves them into the big time with national distribution through an equity deal with Inked Magazine.

Selom Agbitor and Oliver Zak, who met on university and formed Mad Rabbit together, are the companys inventors. They agreed to create a business together, despite the fact that they didnt know what it would be until Oliver got a tattoo.

While Mad Rabbit is a completely different product, it may be too niche for the Sharks. The only way they can get a deal is if a Shark buys into the lifestyle brand thinking. Kevin invested in Doc Spartan, an all natural first aid balm, back in season 8, so he may have a conflict. I cant see Lori or Barbara going for this, so Daymond and Mark are the only hope. One of them may take a flyer on this if the margins and the deal are good, but I dont think thats gonna happen.
